Meet Turtle!

Turtle at TLC headquarters

We’re excited and proud to introduce you all to our new mascot! His name is Turtle (what else?) and he’s our Head Honcho Adrianne’s 9 month old Australian Labradoodle puppy. His coat is allergy-friendly so he can hang out with us in the office everyday and reduce any stress we may have by always be up for cuddles. Be on the lookout for Turtle on our website and in more photos in the next few months, but for now he just enjoys keeping us company during meetings and observing how we do things so he can be an awesome mascot when the time comes.

Fancy Dress Friday: state necklaces and vintage appreciation edition

Happy Friday, everyone! We’ve had a week full of appreciating new and old things here at Turtle Love Co., including a trip to Goodwill for a thriftventure where we gathered new decorations for our offices and had a great time exploring what the store had to offer (you can see pictures of our finds in this facebook album).

There are also some new additions to the Turtle Love Co. collection of jewelry. Joining the recently added (and adorable!) Mother and Baby Elephant Necklace and Mother and Baby Duck Necklace are a new line of sterling silver state necklaces! The current states available are the California Necklace, Maine Necklace, Massachusetts Necklace, New York Necklace, and Texas Necklace. These are just the first states in the collection and we will be adding more soon (and perhaps even some country necklaces!). If you would like a chance to win one of these state necklaces, we’re sponsoring a giveaway on A Practical Wedding where all you have to do to be entered is to add your wedding venue to their venue directory. Simple! You can learn more about the contest by reading APW’s post about it here.

As you can see in this week’s Fancy Dress Friday photo below, we’re taking some time to re-examine and appreciate the rings in our vintage engagement ring collection. In this picture (from left to right) Aubin is checking the size of our Amelia Vintage Engagement Ring, Alicia is measuring our Rochelle Vintage Diamond Wedding Ring Set, and Emily is taking a closer look at our Avery Vintage Engagement Ring. These are just three pieces of our collection, so take a look at our Vintage Engagement Rings and tell us in the comments here which one is your favorite!

Fancy Dress Friday: gold branches, dinosaurs, and Little Ghosts edition

This week has been decidedly different, full of vintage rings, dinosaur necklaces, and gold branch jewelry. We’ve also been enjoying having our new team member Emily with us for the entire week. This is her first Fancy Dress Friday photo with us, the first of many!

Turtle Love Co. Fancy Dress Friday, August 10, 2012

The two Currently Loving posts from the past week, by Emily from Tales for Karina Marie and Ashley from Sweet William, offered a fresh take on styling two of our necklaces. Ashley paired Jivita Harris-Casey’s Branching Necklace with Michele Scholnick’s Gold Branches Ring for a pin board dedicated to the style of the type of girl who gets her fashion cues from nature. Emily, on the other hand, used her own modern style to incorporate our Triceratops Dinosaur Necklace into an outfit for the early fall.

Our most recent “Turtle Love Co. on location” adventure was a trip to the local Portland store Little Ghost Vintage. While there, we were joined by our Vintage Style Council Member of the Month Laura of sweeter salt for a vintage engagement ring photo shoot. We photographed 11 of our antique engagement rings using props from the store like ceramic figurines, purses, and vintage hats! Laura wrote a blog post about the shoot (as well as her thoughts about being our VSC Member of the Month) that you can read here. Below is a picture of Laura modeling our Lucia Vintage Diamond Engagement Ring. You can see the rest of the photos in our “Turtle Love Co. on location” blog post here.
