Ever since she was a child growing up on the shores of Lake Superior in Upper Michigan, Julie knew that she would work with her hands. The decision was solidified when she took her first metals class at Northern Michigan University in...well let's just say it's been a few years. It has been her passion ever since.
She currently lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she earned her M.F.A. at Colorado State University in 1998. This enables her to teach at the university level and share her love of the medium with others, teaching part time at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She has been designing and creating in her studio full time since 1998. She is an active member of SNAG; The Society of North American Goldsmiths, and COMA; The Colorado Metalsmithing Association.
