| Most on-line shopping carts rely on cookies to "remember" what it is you want to buy in case you leave the site and come back to it later. A cookie is simply a very small file that a website links to your computer. Each cookie is unique to each visitor to a website. When your privacy settings are high, cookies may be disabled, preventing you from adding an item to your cart. Try changing your privacy settings in Preferences before you make a purchase. You can always set them back to high once you're done. While some browsers like Firefox will notify you if you attempt to make a purchase with disabled cookies, we've found that using Internet Explorer has posed the most problems for our customers. If your privacy is set at "High" (rather than "Block All Cookies") in Internet Explorer, you will not get a notice that cookies are disabled. Go into Preferences and let your computer accept cookies for the brief time it takes to place your order. We hope this helps! Please call us if you need more help. |

| Why is my sterling silver jewelry turning my skin green/black? What can I do about it? | |
Of all precious metals, sterling silver is the least stable, which means that it is more likely to react with the environment than other metals like gold or palladium. The environment to which a piece of jewelry is exposed can include everything from the humidity of the air around you to the chemical composition of your skin's perspiration. Yup, it's chemistry, and it's pretty strange! If your sterling silver jewelry is tarnishing quickly, or causing your skin to turn green or black, it is because it is reacting adversely to the conditions in its immediate environment. We can assure you that ALL of our sterling silver products are 925 sterling silver (the industry standard), and contain no base metals like nickel. The discoloration can be prevented, and it is in no way harmful or permanent. We want your sterling silver jewelry to shine like new, and here's how to make that happen: First, we recommend using a liquid silver polishing agent. This will immediately remove any tarnish that has built up on your ring. (If your jewelry contains pearls, this is not recommended - pearls are delicate!) Second, wear your ring constantly! This may sound counterintuitive, since it may be your own body chemistry that the metal is reacting with, but your skin also produces beneficial oils that will really help prevent tarnish. The more you wear your jewelry, the more these beneficial oils can build up on the ring to form a protective layer. Meanwhile, polish the ring with a soft polishing cloth every day for a couple of weeks. This will consistently remove the tarnishing agents, leaving the protective oils in place so that eventually you won't have to use the polishing cloth as often. You can even add a drop of olive oil to the polishing cloth when you use it to enhance your own skin's natural oils. We expect that you will see results as soon as you start following these steps. If you continue to experience problems with you sterling silver, do let us know! |
