The Dryad Five Black Diamond Wedding Band is handmade in Maine by Heather Perry using recycled sterling silver and conflict-free black diamonds. The band has an organic, raw look inspired by the beautiful imperfection of the natural world, and the black diamonds set into the sterling silver are like windows looking in at the spirit of the trees.

The poet Keats was familiar with the ancient Greek personification of the forest. Dryads, like the nightingale in his poem, presided over the trees. They were rhapsodized in mythology as beautiful, mysterious female sprites, born with each new tree, living and growing with the forest around them. If a dryad’s tree comes to harm, she suffers with it; when her tree is healthy and strong, she thrives. The dryads inspired passion in the gods and mortals alike: Eurydice was a wood nymph whose husband, Orpheus, loved her so much he followed her to the Underworld to find her and bring her back.
