     I lived in Washington state once. Fell in love with a boy in an apple orchard. How we found ourselves there, I don't remember. But we strolled, hand in hand, through the blossom covered trees. He plucked one of the small pink flowers from a nearby branch and gently placed it behind my ear and kissed me on the nose. Although we parted ways many moons ago, I still smile when I pass an apple stand at a market. Who knew a girl could fall in love with a Cortland like that?
