  Blossom Earrings

"Thought is the blossom; language the bud; action the fruit behind it."  - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I lived in Italy once. Near an olive orchard. I had never cared much for the fruit until my time in Tuscany where I grew rather fond of the frantoio and leccino olives from the family-run orchard near me. It amazed me that such old trees, their trunks gnarled and defeated in appearance, could bring an entire community together at harvest when the branch sat heavily laden with the fruits of their, and their farmers, generations-old labor. I fell in love with olives that Winter.
